This patient, aged 9 years, presented changes in her bite resulting from prolonged use of a pacifier.
He had an open bite (there was a lack of contact between the upper and lower teeth, giving the illusion that the mouth was not closing well) and he had a right crossbite (the upper teeth were fitted inside the lower teeth).
Furthermore, he also had an inadequate tongue posture both at rest and in functionality.
The solution to his case involved orthodontic treatment and behavioral work to eliminate sucking habits. By placing a fixed expansion dental appliance and a fixed partial dental appliance, it was possible to realign the dentition and correct the lingual posture.
